Rig Tight LLC, is a family-owned business based in Burlington, NC, dedicated to one goal: simplifying the way you rig your boat’s outriggers. We specialize in producing patented, professional-grade, adjustable tensioning outrigger shock cords that outperform traditional bungee cord systems, ensuring your gear performs properly when you need it most.
Our Journey
Our story began in 2006 with a center console boat and a passion for the open ocean. Our real education started in the offshore waters out of Morehead City, NC–navigating the same challenging conditions and chasing the same legendary fish as our customers. After nearly two decades of rigging, trolling, and fine tuning the spread, we realized that traditional outrigger setups often lacked the precision needed. We didn’t want a system that worked; we wanted one that offered total control. That’s why we developed our adjustable tensioning shock cord system–built by offshore anglers, for offshore anglers, to ensure your halyard lines maintain proper tension, no matter the sea condition.
- 2017: Our owner, James Brannock, grew frustrated with the common failures of traditional outrigger rigging and line tensioning. He spent several years in R&D to engineer a solution that would revolutionize the industry.
- 2019: James becomes a USGC Licensed Captain.
- 2021: Our first unique invention was awarded a US patent.
- 2023: Rig Tight LLC officially launches operations, manufacturing our RIGGIES® brand right here in the USA.
- Future: Innovation never stops. With a second patent pending and scheduled for issuance in early 2026, we continue to expand our product line to meet the needs of serious anglers.
